# About Badges

## **Overview**

CIME uses a chat badge system to recognize viewer activity, contributions, and roles within the community.

You can earn badges through various activities across the platform. Some badges may be removed if the requirements for maintaining them are no longer met.

Badges appear next to your username in chat and help other viewers identify your role, status, or contributions within a channel.

Some badges are channel-specific and will **only appear in the channel where they were earned**. As a result, the badges you see may vary from one channel to another.

For example, a badge earned in Channel A will not be displayed when chatting in Channel B.

## **Badge Types**

CIME badges are divided into three categories:

| ---------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Subscriber | Badges awarded based on your subscription duration in a specific channel                                                     |
| Channel    | Badges earned through channel-specific activities, such as cheering, gifting subscriptions, or other community participation |
| Role       | Badges that indicate platform or channel permissions, responsibilities, or special roles                                     |

#### **Support & Limited-Time**

### **Role Badges**

A badge awarded to users with special platform or channel permissions.

## **Badge Display & Order**

**Up to 4 badges** can be displayed next to a user's name in chat.

You can customize the display order of your badges, subject to the following rules:

* Role Badges are always displayed first.
* All other badges can be reordered by the user.

However, Role Badges always appear first and cannot be moved. All other badges can be arranged however you'd like.

Support Badges may be awarded for your first donation or based on your total amount of support within a channel.

Subscriber Badges are earned by subscribing to a channel. Your badge will automatically upgrade as your subscription time grows, showing how long you've supported that streamer.

No. Subscriber Badges are always displayed and cannot be hidden manually.

Some Channel Badges may allow you to control whether they are displayed, but Subscriber Badges will always appear as part of your active subscription status.
