# About Hiding Users

Hide is a personal preference feature that lets you stop seeing a specific user's chat messages and comments.

Unlike a ban, which is a moderation action taken by a streamer or moderator, hiding a user only affects your own experience.

Hiding a user does not restrict their activity in any way. Their messages and comments remain visible to everyone else, but are hidden from you.

## **What Happens When You Hide Someone?**

Changes take effect immediately after you hide a user.

### **Live Chat & Replay Chat**

You will no longer see chat messages sent by that user in live streams or replays.

### **Clip Comments**

You will no longer see comments posted by that user on clips.

## **Unhiding a User**

If you unhide a user, you'll be able to see their messages and comments again.

Please note that hidden content may continue to be hidden until the page is refreshed.

## **Hide Feature Limitations**

In certain channels, the following accounts cannot be hidden:

* The channel owner, channel moderators, chat moderators

For example, even if you hide a user, their messages and comments may still be visible in channels or clips where they serve as the channel owner or a moderator.
