A ban is a moderation action that allows a streamer or channel moderator to restrict a user's activity within a channel.

Banned users can still watch the channel, but certain actions and features within the channel will be unavailable.

## **What Happens When You're Banned?**

Once a ban is applied, the following restrictions take effect immediately:

### **Chat & Comments**

* You cannot send messages in live chat or video comments.
* Your previous chat messages and comments may be hidden.
* You cannot post new comments.

### **Donations**

* You cannot send Chat Donations.
* You cannot send Video Donations.
* You cannot mark missions as completed or failed, or add rewards to active missions. This applies even to missions you created yourself.

### **Subscriptions**

* You cannot purchase new subscriptions or Gift Subscriptions.
* If you already have an active subscription, it will remain active until it expires.

### **Clips**

* You cannot create clips from the channel.

### **Moderator Roles**

* You cannot be assigned as a channel moderator.

## **Ban Duration**

Depending on the situation, a ban may be applied for one of the following durations:

* Until the stream ends
* 1 minute
* 7 days
* 30 days
* Permanent

Your channel activity will remain restricted for the duration of the ban.

## **Alternate Accounts**

Bans may also be **applied to other accounts belonging to the same user**.

This helps prevent users from bypassing channel moderation by continuing to participate through alternate accounts.

## **Accounts That Cannot Be Banned**

The following accounts cannot be banned:

* Channel Owner
* Channel Moderator
* Chat Moderator
